AMNA ESPOSITO: The Update of ME

Amna Esposito’s Museum of Me explores her life formed amongst a blend of cultures—East African Asian heritage, an Italian husband, and British upbringing in Birmingham.

As a pharmacist and eldest sibling, Amna shared stories of her family, her love for cooking, and the importance of her community.

Her museum highlights her pride in her multicultural background, blending Punjabi, African, and Italian traditions. We’ve caught up with her to find out about the joy that her son Ali is continuing to bring her.

Amna said:

We are well. Not much new. We went back to Italy in the summer and had a lovely time. One of the pictures is taken at the place where me and Gia got married so it was nice to take Ali back there. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and Ali is going to be a page-boy so I will send pics then.

Gia is well. He’s still working from home and loving it. It means he’s always around for Ali.

Ali started nursery and it was so sad at the start because he only spoke Italian and they didn’t understand him, and vice versa, but now he’s getting there with English too. They’ve learnt some Italian along the way too. 🥰
