NOR AZIZ: My Updated Symphony

Nor Aziz is someone who is deeply connected to nature and gardening, which she sees as a reflection of life's cycles.

In Symphony of Us she shared how her garden's struggles and triumphs mirror her personal challenges, particularly the loss of her curry plants and the vibrant return of her garden after a long winter. The garden becomes a place of healing and renewal, intertwined with her experiences.

We see Nor frequently, but touched base with her recently to find out how both her, and her beautiful garden, are getting on.

Nor said:

The curry plants sadly didn’t survive last year’s winter. They were too big to keep in the house. I tried to put them in my conservatory, but it couldn’t give them enough warmth to fight through the winter ordeal.

We went for a holiday in Malaysia, one whole month in July this year. The garden had just started waking up from winter sleep. Tiny pink blossoms and purple shoots all came to visit at the same time. They came late for this year. Flowers and new leaves blossomed at the same time. By the time I came back from Malaysia in August, most flowers were gone. I had hydrangeas, though, to perk up my garden with their riot colours.

Fruit trees were not faring well this year. I wasn’t sure if that was because of the weather or fungi disease.
